Sources close to the Qatari and Pakistani mediation efforts told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that a breakthrough has been achieved in the indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
According to the sources, a US delegation is expected to join the negotiations in Doha for talks with the Iranian delegation, paving the way for an announcement of a return to the diplomatic track.
This follows reported agreement on preliminary measures concerning Iran’s nuclear program, navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, and financial incentives for Iran, with guarantees from China and Russia.
Meanwhile, Axios reported that no date has yet been set for the US delegation’s arrival in Doha and that no agreement has been reached on resuming direct negotiations.
An Iranian source also confirmed that discussions remain indirect and are being conducted through mediators, with an Iranian deputy foreign minister present in Doha to facilitate coordination with the Qatari delegation.
