Axis of Resistance Perspective:

For the Axis, the war is viewed as an existential test of deterrence. Hezbollah and the Iraqi resistance factions are operating on a war footing, targeting US bases in Iraq and Syria to stretch coalition resources . The closure of the strait is seen not as a blockade but as an assertion of sovereign rights and a necessary tool to break the US economy’s will. Iran’s supreme leadership views the US’s reluctance to directly engage the IRGC in the strait as a sign of weakness.

The strategic goal is not to win a conventional war but to outlast the political will of the Trump administration, leveraging the upcoming election cycle to force a ceasefire that acknowledges Iran’s regional role without surrendering its nuclear or missile programs.
