The exercise includes all regional military commands, branches and reserve forces, and is designed to test readiness for conducting operations on multiple fronts simultaneously, under the guise of pre-holiday defensive mobilization.
But its timing and scope carry significance beyond a routine exercise: they represent an operational and psychological signal of potential preparations to expand the regional theater of operations.

According to this assessment, the objective is to impose an unbearable human cost on civilians, weaken popular support for the Resistance, and transform towns across Southern Lebanon into uninhabitable zones, thereby imposing a new demographic reality.

Targeting vital roads, administrative centers and healthcare facilities aims to disrupt civil-defense capabilities, disrupt supply lines, and sever communications and movement between urban centers such as Nabatieh and peripheral towns near the border.

The “Dawn 2.0” exercise serves a dual purpose:
Militarily: To raise troop readiness for the possibility of simultaneous escalation across multiple fronts.

Every strike on a civilian home, every attack on a hospital or vital road, demonstrates not only the occupation’s firepower, but also the limits of its ability to translate military superiority into long-term political and strategic dominance.
If “Dawn 2.0” is a test for a multi-front war, then the most important question is not simply:
Is the occupation preparing to expand the war?
