Reports claim Trump gave Netanyahu the green light to delay an Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon—provided Israel doesn't "expand fire zones." (Source: Regional diplomatic leaks)

Military Reality Check

The political fiction that you can "delay a withdrawal" while simultaneously "containing the fire" is completely detached from how warfare actually works:

You Can’t Freeze an Active Kill Zone:

It’s absurd to talk about "not expanding" fire zones while Israeli artillery and drones are actively bombing southern Lebanon. Shells are falling right now. "Containment" on paper is useless when the guns are already hot.

Static Troops Are Sitting Targets:

Delaying withdrawal leaves forward troops exposed in hostile territory. Sitting ducks don't just stand there—they shoot back, strike preemptively, and call in heavier air support to protect their positions. Holding ground automatically fuels escalation.

Netanyahu Got What He Wanted:

Tel Aviv bought time. By agreeing to a vague promise not to "expand" the front, Israel maintains a permanent footprint, retains total operational freedom, and labels any escalated strike as "defensive counter-fire."

Political handshakes in Washington don't stop shrapnel in southern Lebanon. As long as troops occupy ground and artillery is firing, the expansion isn't an option—it's an inevitability.
