Disarming the State... A New Concession Announced by Abbas in Meeting with the German Foreign...

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas renewed his readiness to hold general elections, noting that these elections will exclude political factions and individuals who do not adhere to the program of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), international legitimacy, as well as the principles of one state, one legal system, and a unified legitimate weapon.

The president emphasized the importance of implementing the two-state solution based on international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, as outlined at the International Peace Conference in New York. He also stressed that the future Palestinian state, including the Gaza Strip, will be disarmed.
