Escalation Risks: Will Israel Refuse to Withdraw?

The Reality on the Ground:

A senior security official confirms that no concrete steps or procedures indicating an Israeli withdrawal from the designated framework areas have been observed on the ground.

Israel is deliberately escalating tensions through intensive warplane and drone strikes on villages, alongside expanding the destruction and burning of residential buildings. This leaves the door wide open for dangerous escalatory scenarios.

Israeli Pretexts:

Recent Hebrew media reports claiming that hundreds of Hezbollah operatives remain south of the Litani River are being used as a pretext. The security official warns this rhetoric serves as a cover not just to delay the withdrawal from the "experimental zones," but to avoid withdrawing altogether.

Diplomatic Track & US Assurances:

Lebanese-US consultations have intensified over recent days to halt continuous Israeli violations and revive the execution of the framework agreement, which has suffered an unexpected freeze since its signing on June 26.

These talks concluded with diplomatic assurances that Israel harbors no escalatory intentions as long as Hezbollah does not target Israeli forces.

US officials emphasized that Washington is directly monitoring the framework, promising a serious and effective launch of the implementation and withdrawal process by Israel in the coming days.
