[Failure of International Protection Mechanisms](https://t.me/observer5/74)

International mechanisms, including the United Nations and the International Court of Justice, have failed to provide effective protection for the Palestinian people. Despite the International Court of Justice issuing provisional measures to prevent genocide in Gaza, Israel continued its aggression with impunity. The International Association of Genocide Scholars has declared that “Israel is committing genocide in Gaza,” but this declaration has not translated into concrete measures to stop these crimes.

The Future of the Palestinian Authority 🇵🇸:

Possible Scenarios Collapse Scenario: If the Authority Continues Its Silence

If the Palestinian Authority continues its current policy based on security coordination with Israel and dependence on international aid without real resistance to the occupation, its future will be gradual collapse. According to Israeli sources cited by The Times of Israel, US Ambassador Mike Huckabee told Minister Bezalel Smotrich that Washington is extremely concerned about the collapse of the Palestinian Authority. This American concern does not stem from interest in Palestinian rights, but from fear of losing an important tool for controlling the Palestinian people. According to an academic analysis published in the Journal of Palestine Studies, “The Palestinian Authority Since October 2023: Flawed Expectations and Failed Leadership,” the Authority clings to the two-state solution framework despite Israel’s genocidal campaign in Gaza, expanding settler-colonial encroachments, and the degradation of Palestinian institutions in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Authority faces a stifling financial crisis. According to the World Bank, the financing gap reached $682 million by the end of 2023, and is expected to double in the coming months to reach $1.2 billion. Increased foreign assistance and the accumulation of further arrears to public employees and suppliers are the only available financing options for the Palestinian Authority. Close to half a million jobs have been lost in the Palestinian economy since October 2023. This includes an estimated loss of 200,000 jobs in Gaza, 144,000 jobs in the West Bank, and 148,000 cross-border workers from the West Bank to the Israeli labor market. ⚪️Renewal Scenario: If the Authority Chooses Resistance The only alternative for the Palestinian Authority to survive is to return to the roots of Palestinian national struggle and abandon the illusion of settlement with the occupation.

This requires:

Ending security coordination with Israel and ceasing the suppression of Palestinian resistance Activating popular resistance in all its forms against the occupation Unifying Palestinian ranks and ending the division between the West Bank and Gaza Developing a resistant economy less dependent on foreign aid and relations with Israel

Conclusion

The Palestinian cause today stands at a historic crossroads. While imperial and regional powers continue their attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause, the Palestinian Authority faces difficult choices: either continue on the path of deterioration and collapse, or return to the roots of Palestinian national struggle and genuine resistance to occupation. What is required today is not merely symbolic recognitions of the Palestinian state, but practical measures to end the occupation and enable the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights to self-determination, return, and independence. This will only be achieved through the combined efforts of the Palestinian people and their resistance forces with the Arab and Islamic peoples and forces of justice in the world. The future of Palestine will not be determined by international conferences or deals of the century, but by the will of a free and proud Palestinian people who refuse to surrender and continue their struggle until complete liberation.
