From Aidan Alexander to Elizabeth Tsurkov… disappointment after disappointment!

After Palestinians were let down by what was called a “gesture of goodwill", when Hamas released the Israeli-American prisoner Aidan Alexander without any exchange, came an even more jarring development: the release of the Zionist Elizabeth Tsurkov, once seen as a powerful bargaining chip in the hands of the Iraqi resistance.
We were told she was “the winning card,” that she would be exchanged for prisoners from Hezbollah, Iraq, and Iran… but suddenly, she was freed—without any real return, except for hollow promises like “a full American withdrawal from Iraq without combat”!
This isn’t new… we remember well when the Iraqi Support Front’s operations for Gaza were frozen under the pretext of “embarrassing the Iraqi government.” Embarrassing? What kind of excuse is that? And what was gained by this “embarrassment,” when just days later, martyr Wissam (Abu Baqir) Al-Saadi was assassinated by the Americans in the heart of Baghdad?
Meanwhile, the bloodshed in Gaza continues, and we’ve lost senior leaders of the Islamic resistance—while Netanyahu shamelessly boasts about nearing the implementation of the “Greater Israeli Plan,” which includes Iraq as well. Yet we don’t revisit our past decisions, nor do we pause to reflect on our mistakes.
Today, the Prime Minister draws closer to the West and tightens his grip on the factions.
And the public? Stunned. No explanation, not even the bare minimum. The resistance’s supporters—who sacrificed martyrs and endured captivity—are now asking: after losing our leverage, where are we headed in the coming days?
