Full Statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office:

Israel appreciates the important step taken by the Lebanese government, led by President Aoun and Prime Minister Salam.

The recent decision made by the Lebanese Cabinet to seek the disarmament of Hezbollah by the end of 2025 was a decision of utmost importance.

This decision represents an opportunity for Lebanon to regain its sovereignty, and rebuild its state institutions, military, and government—without interference or influence from non-governmental actors.

In light of this significant development, Israel is prepared to support Lebanon in its efforts to disarm Hezbollah and work together towards a safer and more stable future for both countries.

If the Lebanese security forces take steps to disarm Hezbollah, Israel will take reciprocal steps, including a gradual reduction of the Israeli Defense Forces' presence in coordination with the United States.

Now is the time for Israel and Lebanon to move forward in a spirit of cooperation, focusing on the shared goal of disarming Hezbollah and promoting stability and prosperity for both countries. 🔵
