The funeral of Azzam Khalil al-Hayya was held today in the Gaza Strip. He is the fourth son of the senior Hamas leader to be martyred during the ongoing war. Notably, Azzam was the twin brother of "Hammam," who was martyred in a previous strike in Doha last September.
In an exclusive statement to Al Jazeera, Khalil al-Hayya emphasized that this targeting is a blatant attempt to pressure Palestinian negotiators and force them into surrender. He stressed that the systematic policy of assassinations and intimidation against leaders and their children will not succeed in extracting any political concessions.
