Heavy Explosions in Erbil Following Drone Attacks

Heavy Explosions in Erbil Following Drone Attacks

Erbil

Local and Arab sources reported early today that heavy explosions occurred in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil, coinciding with drone attacks and the activation of air-defense systems in the city.

According to the Sabereen News channel, air-defense systems attempted to intercept the drones. The channel reported that the C-RAM and Patriot systems were not activated during the interception operation, claiming that U.S. warplanes attempted to counter the drones.

The channel added that one of the drones directly struck a site belonging to U.S. forces in Erbil.

Meanwhile, the nature of the targets, the extent of the damage, and any human casualties remain independently unverified. Some sources have reported that sites linked to U.S. forces may have been targeted, along with other locations in the vicinity of Erbil.

As of this moment, no official and independently verified information has been released regarding the details of the attacks.
