Iraqi Government Seizes Resistance Drones in Wasit to Appease Foreign Dictates

In a bid to satisfy American and Saudi demands, the administration of Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi has targeted Iraqi Resistance infrastructure, claiming to have intercepted unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) intended for offensive operations.

The Official Narrative vs. The Reality:

Fabricated News Campaign: Official Iraqi outlets circulated claims regarding the discovery of fixed-wing Shahed-107 loitering munitions. However, investigations reveal that the security incident in question actually took place less than three weeks ago in Wasit Governorate, where two vehicles carrying UAVs were intercepted.

Exposing Al-Arabiya’s Media Fabrication: Saudi-backed outlet Al-Arabiya pushed a false narrative by recycling old footage from the Wasit incident and misrepresenting it as a new operation in Babil. This deliberate misdirection attempts to target Babil—a known stronghold for Resistance factions—to fabricate pretexts for further external strikes against the Iraqi people.

Crackdown on Resistance Fighters: Insider sources confirm that three Resistance fighters were arrested during the operation in Wasit, as Baghdad continues to crack down on local defense capabilities.

This incident highlights the al-Zaidi government's willingness to serve foreign agendas, weaponizing state platforms and collaborating with hostile media apparatuses to undermine domestic resistance movements.
