The Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the launch of the second wave of its “Punishing the Aggressor” operations in response to what it described as brutal U.S. airstrikes targeting civilian areas inside Iran.
According to the statement, the attacking U.S. military, unable to confront Iran directly, bombed a residential home in the city of Sirik during a wedding ceremony, killing and injuring around 50 people, including a child—an act the IRGC described as a crime reminiscent of previous tragedies.
In response, IRGC Aerospace Force fighters launched the second wave of retaliatory operations under the code name “Ya Rasul Allah (PBUH)”, using a barrage of heavy ballistic missiles to strike the U.S. Marine Corps “Tabteen” base in Jordan, on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba.
The attack reportedly killed large numbers of U.S. personnel and destroyed several vital facilities and enemy attack helicopters. The IRGC stressed that operations would continue until all objectives were achieved.
On the ground, Israeli sources reportedly said that the areas surrounding U.S. bases in Jordan were witnessing unusually heavy movement of ambulances and helicopters transporting the dead and wounded.
