Islamic Resistance in Iraq Announces Postponement of Planned Response

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq issued an official statement today, Friday, August 7, 2026 (23 Safar 1448 AH), announcing the postponement of the response operation that had been scheduled for today.

The decision was made in response to an appeal by the mujahid “Abu Hassan al-Amiri” and in consideration of calls from political figures.

Statement on Postponing the Response: A New Strategic Mistake Entrenching the Policy of Retreat and Sterile Diplomacy

As expected, and despite our understanding of the complex situation and the extremely difficult circumstances surrounding the Resistance—particularly amid threats and the mobilization of security forces to prevent or strike any deterrent action—the Iraqi Resistance has once again chosen retreat and withdrawal by issuing a statement postponing its response. ⚠️

The irony is that the Resistance justified this retreat by citing a call from Hadi al-Amiri, while al-Amiri himself never called for any retaliation or revenge. Rather, he explicitly called for relying on the customary diplomatic channels—the same sterile approach they have become accustomed to. This raises the fundamental question: What connection is there in the first place between the Resistance and a diplomatic approach? 🤔

This decision constitutes a grave strategic mistake, particularly given its timing: it came on the very day that Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan mobilized alliances under the banner of the “Islamic NATO.” ⚔️

History will record this retreat and add it to the chain of previous mistakes, such as the failure to deliver the required response following the assassination of the commanders in 2020, and the continued freezing of operations, as occurred following the assassination of the martyr Abu Baqir al-Saadi. 📜

The equation has repeatedly demonstrated that whenever the Resistance freezes its operations, the only corresponding response is more aggression and arrogance from the enemy. ⚠️🔥

Regardless of the justifications, the threats issued by the Resistance are now losing their credibility in the eyes of both friends and enemies. The rules of engagement dictate either not issuing threats at all, or carrying them out immediately once the deadlines expire. Otherwise, continued retreat will produce nothing but further impunity for the enemy and greater humiliation. 🚨
