Israel killed in southern Lebanon… and now its own justification is beginning to collapse

Israel killed in southern Lebanon… and now its own justification is beginning to collapse

In a significant development, Israeli media outlets, including Channel 13, have reported that Hezbollah was not the party that violated the ceasefire in the Ali al-Taher Heights area, contradicting the Israeli government’s claim used to justify its military action.

The problem is that this was not merely a passing political statement.

Yesterday, Israel carried out a massacre in southern Lebanon, killing 12 Lebanese civilians, while the Israeli narrative presented the attack as a response to an alleged ceasefire violation.

Then Israeli media itself reports:

Hezbollah was not responsible for the ceasefire violation, contrary to what the government claimed.

And this raises a question more serious than the attack itself:

If the justification used for the attack was false, on what basis were these Lebanese civilians killed?

Has firing first and inventing the justification afterward become Israel’s new model for a “ceasefire”?

Israel demands that Lebanon and the factions respect the truce, while simultaneously reserving for itself the right to decide who violated it, when, and how—then using its own narrative to justify the bombing.

This is not a ceasefire.

It is a ceasefire on Israeli terms: Israel strikes, Israel investigates, and Israel delivers the verdict.

And what makes this case particularly significant is that the contradiction is not coming from Beirut, Tehran, or any other party hostile to Israel.

It is coming from Israeli media itself.

If the Israeli government’s account of the alleged ceasefire violation in Ali al-Taher is false, then the massacre carried out on the basis of that claim cannot simply be dismissed as an ordinary

“defensive response.”

The blood of civilians does not become legitimate simply because Tel Aviv attaches a military statement to it.

Southern Lebanon is not an open laboratory for Israeli narratives.

And the question that must now be asked is:

Who will hold Israel accountable when the very justification for its killings is being challenged from within Israel itself?
