Although Defense Minister Israel Katz boasted that the Israeli army bombed most of the bridges over the Litani River and cut off South Lebanon from the rest of the country, IDF sources clarify that the water level of the Litani River only reaches knee-height. Therefore, Hezbollah does not actually need the bridges to send reinforcements to fight against the Israeli army.

It takes a special kind of strategic "genius" to spend millions in high-tech munitions on bridges, only to be reminded by your own generals that the water is barely knee-deep. Perhaps next time, Katz will declare a major victory after successfully "neutralizing" a collection of garden fences or a particularly threatening puddle. It seems the Minister’s military ego is significantly deeper than the river he’s so proud of conquering.
