J.D. Vance, Vice President of the United States: The U.S. Cannot Communicate Directly with Iran’s Supreme Leader

In an interview with journalist Megyn Kelly regarding tensions with Iran, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said: "Communicating with Tehran is challenging due to the nature of the Iranian political system, which is led by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei."

Vance added: "It is a country that is difficult to conduct diplomacy with when you cannot speak directly to the person responsible for the state, which makes the situation very strange."

He also emphasized that President Donald Trump would first attempt to achieve his objectives through non-military means, but if he feels that the military option is the only way, he will ultimately choose it.
