As the Israeli occupation continues its attacks on Lebanese territory, attention is turning to the American city of Tampa, where a Lebanese delegation is expected to sit down for negotiations with Israeli representatives under Washington’s sponsorship.

Meanwhile, in a new security development, reports have emerged of Israeli drones flying over Beirut’s southern suburbs and the capital itself, highlighting the continuing Israeli threat beyond the southern border villages.

First | Israeli Attacks on Southern Lebanon

Monday witnessed a series of Israeli airstrikes, artillery bombardments, and demolition operations inside Lebanese territory, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency and other media outlets.

Wadi al-Hujair: Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on the area.

Mefdoun: A small Israeli drone fired a projectile at the rooftop of a previously targeted building in the Al-Rajm neighborhood, while intermittent shelling struck the outskirts of the town.

Hadata: The town came under Israeli artillery fire.

Tallouseh: Israeli warplanes carried out two waves of airstrikes around the town in the Marjayoun district.

Qantara: Israeli forces conducted two powerful demolition operations inside the town, although the precise locations targeted were not identified.

Mansouri: Israeli artillery targeted the town and its surrounding valley in the Tyre district.

No confirmed casualty figures were available for these attacks in the reports reviewed. Furthermore, a comprehensive record of all attacks between midnight Monday and 11:30 AM Tuesday could not be independently verified, nor could the exact timing of the reported Israeli drone flights over Beirut.

Second | Tampa Negotiations… Lebanon Negotiates under Fire!

Against this backdrop, the parties involved are preparing for a round of military and security talks at the headquarters of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) in Tampa, Florida, scheduled for October 20–22.

The Lebanese delegation: Reports indicate the participation of Ambassadors Simon Karam and Nada Hamadeh Moawad, alongside a military delegation headed by Brigadier General George Rizkallah.

Negotiation agenda: Discussions are expected to address security arrangements in southern Lebanon, Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese positions, and verification and monitoring mechanisms.

Lebanon’s position: Official sources indicate that the Lebanese delegation intends to present documented evidence of the Israeli military’s failure to comply with existing security arrangements, including its continued attacks and incursions into Lebanese territory.

The American proposal: Discussions will reportedly explore an international mechanism to assess the Lebanese Army’s implementation of security measures, in exchange for Israeli steps expected to include withdrawal from occupied positions and de-escalation.
