According to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Yemen’s Ansarallah movement is working to manufacture the advanced Iranian Kheibar Shekan ballistic missile domestically, using components reportedly obtained from a Chinese supplier.
The missile has a range of approximately 1,900 kilometers and features a maneuverable warhead designed to complicate interception by air defense systems.
Strategic Significance: If Sana’a succeeds in producing this missile locally, it would mark a major military breakthrough, allowing Ansarallah to move beyond dependence on foreign missile deliveries toward independent production capabilities.
Such a development could significantly strengthen Yemen’s long-range strike capabilities and increase the military pressure on Israel and other regional adversaries.
