Today marks two years since the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar, the former head of Hamas’s Political Bureau, who was killed during a confrontation with Israeli forces in the city of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, on October 16, 2024.

Sinwar was one of Hamas’s most prominent leaders, and his name became closely associated with Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023, which marked a major turning point in the course of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Two years after his martyrdom, the repercussions of that period continue to shape developments across the region, while the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom, dignity, and self-determination remains at the heart of the conflict.
