Message from Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei on National Persian Gulf Day

Message from Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei on National Persian Gulf Day

One of the unparalleled blessings of Almighty God for the Muslim nations of our region, particularly the noble people of Islamic Iran, is the gift of the "Persian Gulf." It is a blessing that transcends a mere body of water; it has shaped our identity and civilization, creating a vital and unique artery for the global economy through the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman. The history of repeated aggressions by European and American outsiders—bringing insecurity and threats—is but a glimpse into the sinister plots of the arrogant powers, the latest example being the recent warmongering of the "Great Satan." The Iranian nation has made the greatest sacrifices for the independence of the Persian Gulf, from the expulsion of the Portuguese to the resistance against British colonialism. The Islamic Revolution was the turning point in severing the hands of the arrogant powers. Today, following the humiliating failure of the American plot, a new chapter is being written for the region. Over the past sixty days, the nations of the region have witnessed the magnificent steadfastness and vigilance of the Navy forces of the Army and the IRGC, alongside the zeal of the youth of southern Iran in rejecting foreign hegemony. Today, by the grace of God and the blood of the martyrs of the "Third Imposed War," especially the late Great Leader of the Islamic Revolution, it has been proven that the American presence is the primary cause of insecurity. Their hollow bases lack the strength even to ensure their own security, let alone that of their dependents. The bright future of this region will be a "Future Without America," dedicated to the progress and welfare of its peoples. We share a "common destiny" with our neighbors; outsiders have no place here except at the bottom of these waters. This victory, under the strategy of "Strong Iran," is the dawn of a new regional and global order. Ninety million proud Iranians consider all scientific and industrial capacities—from Nano and Bio to Nuclear and Missile technologies—as their national capital, and will guard them as they guard their borders. By managing the Strait of Hormuz, Islamic Iran will ensure the security of the Persian Gulf and end the enemy's exploitation. The new management of this waterway will bring prosperity to all regional nations; By the leave of Allah, though the disbelievers may dislike it. Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei April 30, 2026
