Of course, how could he not be "very positive"?

Of course, how could he not be "very positive"?

Israeli media ("Kan") dutifully reports the standard routine: the U.S. President showers the room with broad smiles, displays "deep" empathy for the Lebanese President’s demands, floods the hall with soft diplomatic rhetoric... and everyone walks away empty-handed. Zero commitments.

It’s the same old tactic: feeding the hungry with scented air and selling the thirsty a positive mirage. In the realm of international politics, "positivity without commitment" is merely the diplomatic way of saying: "We heard you, we smiled at you, now go jump in the lake."

Anyone expecting handouts from Washington had better prepare for a very long wait.
