Official Statement Issued by the Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas Regarding Its Response to...

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Important Statement

On the Response of Hamas to U.S. President Donald Trump’s Proposal

Out of keenness to stop the aggression and genocidal war against our steadfast people in the Gaza Strip, and stemming from our national responsibility, as well as our commitment to the constants, rights, and higher interests of our people, the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” has held extensive deliberations within its leadership institutions, broad consultations with Palestinian forces and factions, and discussions with brothers, mediators, and friends, in order to reach a responsible position in dealing with President Donald Trump’s proposal.

After thorough study, the movement has made its decision and delivered the following response to the mediators:

(Hamas values the Arab, Islamic, and international efforts, as well as the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump, aimed at halting the war on the Gaza Strip, enabling a prisoner exchange, ensuring the immediate entry of humanitarian aid, rejecting the occupation of the Strip, and refusing the displacement of our Palestinian people from it.

Within this framework, and in a manner that achieves an end to the war and a complete withdrawal from the Strip, the movement announces its approval to release all occupation prisoners—both living and remains—according to the exchange formula outlined in President Trump’s proposal, and with the provision of the necessary field conditions for the exchange process. In this context, the movement affirms its readiness to immediately enter, through the mediators, into negotiations to discuss the details of this matter.

The movement also reiterates its approval to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian body of independents (technocrats), based on Palestinian national consensus and supported by Arab and Islamic backing.

As for other issues contained in President Trump’s proposal related to the future of the Gaza Strip and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, these are tied to a comprehensive national position and based on the relevant international laws and resolutions. They shall be discussed within a broad Palestinian national framework, of which Hamas will be part and to which it will contribute responsibly.)
