On the Anniversary of the prophet’s Birth… Southern Lebanon under Fire: Where is Justice in the Face of Aggression?
On the blessed anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ birth, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri issued a message congratulating the Lebanese people in general, and Muslims and the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nations in particular. He expressed his hope that the occasion would represent a renewed birth of the faith-based and prophetic values embodied by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ—values of mercy, hope, and the completion of noble character.
Berri stressed that religious occasions should not remain merely passing celebrations, but should instead become a daily practice of prophetic values and teachings.
He also affirmed that these values were established to lay the foundations of justice and preserve and protect human dignity.
But the true test of values is not in congratulations; it is in one’s position when the oppressed are under fire.
On the very same day that we commemorate the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the values of mercy, justice, and dignity, southern Lebanon is facing a continuing series of Israeli attacks.

• Incendiary materials between Al-Haniyeh and Al-Qulayleh
• Explosive materials targeting the Ali al-Taher area
• Sound bombs over Al-Mansouri
• A sound bomb targeting a bulldozer in Yater
Ground movements and attacks:
• A Merkava tank shelled Al-Mansouri.
• Israeli military vehicles were observed moving in the town of Hadatha.
• Homes were set ablaze in Eastern Zawtar and Hadatha.
• Illumination flares were fired over Al-Dhuhayra, accompanied by machine-gun fire toward Sheihin.
And therefore, the question to Speaker Nabih Berri is not about the content of his message, but about its implementation:
What have we learned from the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about defending the vulnerable, standing with the oppressed, and confronting aggressors?
Because shelling does not wait for statements, dignity cannot be protected through speeches alone, and justice cannot be selective.
This is the contradiction that cannot be ignored:
On a day that reminds us of a message of mercy, justice, and dignity, southern Lebanon is living under airstrikes, shelling, and destruction.
May Lebanon and its people remain safe and well, and may southern Lebanon and its steadfast people remain safe and strong.
