Since 2020, Palantir Technologies has secured more than £670 million in UK government contracts, including £330 million with the NHS, £240 million with the Ministry of Defence, and projects involving policing, refugee services and even Britain’s nuclear infrastructure.
The company, founded in 2003 with early backing from the CIA’s investment arm In-Q-Tel, also signed a strategic partnership with Israel’s Ministry of Defense in 2024 during the Gaza war.
Meanwhile, Spain is reportedly instructing public institutions to avoid Palantir contracts that could threaten national sovereignty, joining a broader European effort to reduce dependence on foreign surveillance technology.
