The New York Times published an article titled “Pentagon Develops New Plans to Strike Iran as Trump Hesitates.” The article states:

• At President Trump’s direction, the Pentagon has prepared options for a short, intensive military operation against Iran lasting approximately three days.

• Potential targets include Iran’s missile and drone arsenals, energy facilities, and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) command headquarters.

• This comes after Trump reportedly rejected five proposals for major military operations against Iran or the Houthis in recent months.

• Militarily, three U.S. aircraft carriers will soon be stationed in the Middle East simultaneously for the first time since 2003, accompanied by more than 20,000 sailors and Marines. However, the deployment will be temporary.

• Trump has said he will not attack Iran before the U.S. midterm elections and has spoken of

“productive discussions.”

Meanwhile, officials expect him to wait until after both the Israeli and American elections before making a decision.
