Political Submission and a Dangerous Retreat

A political source revealed details of a strongly worded message delivered by the Saudi intelligence minister to Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi. The message reportedly included an explicit warning demanding that all cultural activities affiliated with the Houthis in Baghdad and other Iraqi provinces be halted, accompanied by a threat of direct targeting.

In a position reflecting the scale of the pressure and the extent of the retreat, al-Zaidi reportedly agreed to terminate these activities under the pretext of “shielding Iraq from conflict.”

The acceptance by the Iraqi prime minister and political authorities of such threats and foreign directives can only be interpreted as a condemnable act of submission and a direct infringement on Iraq’s sovereignty. This swift concession to Saudi conditions represents an explicit blow to the Resistance Axis and a clear declaration of abandoning principled and unifying causes.

Once again, the government has demonstrated its vulnerability to foreign interference and its submission to blackmail at the expense of allied national and regional forces.
