Iraq
The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) issued two official statements today, 29 July 2026, announcing that several of its official headquarters in the provinces of Baghdad, Wasit, Nineveh, Basra, Kirkuk, Karbala, and Diyala were targeted in what it described as treacherous terrorist attacks carried out by U.S. and Saudi forces.
According to the PMF, the attacks have resulted, in a preliminary and non-final toll, in the deaths of at least 20 martyrs and the injury of 32 others, in addition to extensive material damage to its headquarters, vehicles, and military equipment.
The PMF described the strikes as an extremely dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and its official security institutions. It added that specialized committees are continuing their field assessments to determine the full extent of the damage and evaluate the situation, while the Iraqi government and the country’s political class remain completely silent.
