Putin: “Victory Will be Ours” — russia’s Message of Resolve
Speaking today at the United Russia party congress in Moscow, President Vladimir Putin delivered a message centered on political continuity, national unity and Russia’s determination to achieve its objectives in the conflict with Ukraine.
“Russia will not retreat from the principles of popular rule.”
Putin stressed that Russia will continue holding elections at all levels, regardless of the difficulties facing the country. He said the next State Duma must be prepared to firmly defend Russia’s national interests and remain focused on serving the Russian people.
Unity as a Strategic Advantage
Putin argued that Russia’s strength comes from the unity of the front and rear, as well as from the cohesion of different generations of Russian society.
He praised United Russia for avoiding what he described as empty promises, saying this was one of the reasons it became Russia’s dominant political force.
The party’s responsibility, Putin said, is to do everything necessary for victory in the “Special Military Operation”, while its broader mission is to serve the Russian people and the state.
Putin on ukraine’s Attacks
Putin argued that as the situation becomes more difficult for Ukraine on the battlefield, its attacks become increasingly “barbaric.”
He attributed this to what he described as the “Banderite” and Russophobic character of the Kiev regime, framing the conflict as not merely a military confrontation but also a struggle over Russia’s security, identity and sovereignty.
“Russia Decides Its Own Future”
Putin reiterated one of the central themes of his wartime rhetoric:
Russia is a sovereign state and will determine its future by itself — and only by itself.
Despite sanctions, military pressure and economic challenges, he said Russia continues to develop, including through large-scale projects focused on the economy, defense sector and state administration.
The message from the Kremlin was clear:
Moscow does not intend to allow external pressure to dictate Russia’s political or strategic direction.
Putin concluded his address with a short but unmistakable declaration:
