The Representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Sheikh Mohsen Qomi, stated that the Leader of the Islamic Revolution had entrusted him with a message conveying his sincere greetings, thanks, and appreciation to the Iraqi people for their historic positions and broad solidarity during the funeral ceremonies for the martyred Imam, Sayyed Ali Khamenei — may God sanctify his pure soul — coinciding with the launch of events commemorating the 40th day since his burial.

Sheikh Qomi’s visit came two days after Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf’s visit to Iraq. During his visit, Sheikh Qomi met with Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) Chairman Faleh al-Fayyadh and a number of field commanders to convey this special message of gratitude.

During his meetings, Sheikh Qomi conveyed the Iranian leadership’s profound appreciation for the senior religious authority in Najaf, represented by Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali al-Sistani, as well as for the Iraqi government and security forces.

He also praised the major role played by the Popular Mobilization Forces, the organizers of Husayni processions, and the large numbers of Iraqi citizens who participated in ensuring the success of the ceremonies.

He emphasized that the impressive turnout and popular solidarity reflect the deep-rooted bonds of affection and the unique character of relations between the two neighboring peoples—relations distinguished from those with other countries by the strong bonds of brotherhood that unite them.
