Israeli media sources confirm that the Zionist occupation government has officially rejected proposals to expand the so-called "pilot zones" in Southern Lebanon and opposes any diplomatic or supervisory role for France in the monitoring mechanism.

This intransigence coincides with the 7th round of US-mediated talks currently underway in Rome (August 4–6, 2026), exposing the reality of Washington and Tel Aviv's maneuvers to extract political concessions while maintaining occupation forces on Lebanese soil.

1️⃣ Refusal to Expand Withdrawal Zones: While the Lebanese delegation pushed to expand test withdrawal areas to key southern strongholds including Bint Jbeil and Khiam, Israeli negotiators refused to extend the initial limited deployments beyond existing micro-zones (such as Zawtar al-Gharbiyeh, Froun, and Srifa).
