October 14, 2026 | Russia–Ukraine War Update
Russian forces have launched another wave of drone and missile strikes across Ukraine, hitting logistics facilities, energy infrastructure and railway networks.
Latest Military Developments:
▪️ KHMELNYTSKYI: Russian drones struck the Epicentr logistics and distribution centre 10 times on October 13, triggering five major fires. The company reports that 85% of stored goods were destroyed, with no employees injured.
▪️ KYIV & KHARKIV: Overnight Russian missile and drone attacks damaged approximately 30 energy facilities, leaving 600,000 people without electricity and killing at least three.
▪️ UKRAINIAN AIR DEFENSES: Kyiv reported intercepting just 4 of 39 incoming missiles, highlighting serious difficulties countering Russian ballistic and cruise missile attacks.
▪️ RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE: Ukrainian authorities report additional Russian strikes against railway facilities across five regions.
MILITARY ASSESSMENT: Moscow is intensifying its deep-strike campaign against Ukraine’s logistics and energy networks, increasing pressure on Kyiv’s infrastructure and air defenses ahead of winter.
Meanwhile, Ukraine continues targeting Russian oil facilities, and Washington’s proposed energy ceasefire has yet to produce a confirmed agreement.
The strategic question: Can Ukraine sustain a prolonged war of attrition while its energy infrastructure, logistics networks and air defenses face simultaneous pressure?
