Military situation report — Tuesday, 6 October 2026

Israeli forces have maintained a continuous pattern of air, artillery and direct-fire activity across southern Lebanon since shortly after midnight, with strikes distributed across several sectors rather than concentrated on a single axis.

Air Activity

Shortly after midnight, Israeli warplanes carried out strikes on Wadi al-Saluki and the area between Barashit and Aitaroun, according to reports citing Lebanon’s National News Agency.

Artillery Fire

Since dawn, Israeli artillery has struck or fired toward several locations along the southern front.

Confirmed reporting includes:

Haddatha and the outskirts of Barashit

• Additional field reports indicate shelling toward Wadi al-Saluki

Al-Mansouri

Wadi Zibqin

Reporting published this morning confirmed Israeli artillery fire around Haddatha and Barashit.

Direct Fire / machine-gun Sweeps

Israeli positions also carried out machine-gun fire during the early morning hours.

• Fire was reported toward Buyut al-Sayyad and the outskirts of Al-Mansouri.

• Field reports additionally indicate machine-gun sweeping in the Barashit sector.

Drone Activity

An Israeli drone reportedly approached the outskirts of Haris and dropped a sound grenade near a residential home.

This incident was also reported by Lebanese official media and subsequently carried by regional outlets this morning.

Military Assessment

The pattern since midnight points to distributed pressure along several sectors of the southern front, combining:

▪️ airstrikes against valleys and approaches

▪️ artillery harassment and area fire

▪️ machine-gun sweeps from Israeli positions

▪️ low-level drone activity close to populated areas

At this stage, the available evidence does not by itself establish the beginning of a large-scale ground offensive. What it does show is continued Israeli use of multiple forms of fire across a broad frontage, keeping Lebanese border areas under persistent military pressure.

The significance is the geographical spread. Rather than focusing on one village or tactical axis, the activity extends from the Bint Jbeil sector toward the Tyre-facing western sector and the Saluki area, complicating movement and maintaining pressure across several approaches simultaneously.

This morning’s attacks are also a continuation of the much wider wave recorded on 5 October, when Israeli strikes, artillery and demolitions hit Wadi al-Hujeir, Kfar Tebnit, Wadi al-Saluki, Aitaroun, Al-Mansouri, Zibqin and other southern locations.

Situation remains developing.
