Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the ceasefire agreement and intensify attacks across southern Lebanon, while Israeli media reports growing dissatisfaction with the Lebanese Army’s performance in the designated “pilot zones.” At the political level, Lebanese officials are increasingly framing the confrontation as a question of Lebanon’s sovereignty and survival, rather than merely a conflict between Israel and the resistance.
Israeli attacks across the South
Airstrikes: Israeli warplanes targeted Kfar Rumman, Zawtar al-Sharqiya, Mansouri, and the outskirts of Qantara and Adshit al-Qusayr toward Wadi al-Hujeir.
💥 🔥 Heavy explosions: Reported in Khiam around 4:00 a.m., Sirbine, Mansouri, Beit al-Sayyad, Kfar Tibnit, Zawtar al-Sharqiya, Taybeh and Houla, as well as the areas between Taybeh and Qantara and Arnoun and Kfar Tibnit.
Drone activity: Intensive Israeli drone flights were reported at low altitude between residential buildings in Mifdoun.
Artillery fire: Shelling targeted Toul, Baraachit, Houla, Mansouri, Hadatha, Beit Lif, and the area between Hadatha and Haris. Phosphorus shelling was also reported against Nabatieh al-Fawqa.
🔫 🔫 💚 Machine-gun fire: Israeli forces carried out sustained fire toward Houla, Zawtar al-Sharqiya, Hadatha, Beit al-Sayyad, Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Mansouri.
Demolition, fires and illumination: Israeli forces continued demolition and earthmoving operations in the fourth neighborhood of Mansouri, accompanied by shelling. Fires were also set in Houla, while illumination flares were launched over the area around midday.
Israeli Media & Occupation Positions
Kan 11 reported growing dissatisfaction inside Israel with the performance of the Lebanese Army in the “pilot zones” against Hezbollah under the program that has reportedly been running for approximately six weeks.
Israeli journalist Ben Caspit sharply criticized Benjamin Netanyahu following his latest interview, describing the prime minister as appearing
“hysterical, frightened, obsessed and unfocused”
and saying he had never seen Netanyahu in such a state before.
Lebanese Political Position
Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, speaking on the anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr, reiterated Lebanon’s refusal to negotiate under fire.
Berri stressed that Lebanon remains committed to its position regarding the Framework Agreement, warning that negotiations with Israel under military pressure have produced no meaningful security for Lebanon:
“What was the result of seven rounds of negotiations? After seven rounds, the occupied area expanded and Israel continued its war.”
He further declared:
“The homeland belongs to the resistance fighters and the families that Israel erased from the civil registry. There is no room for bargaining over it, and we will not accept the South becoming a buffer zone or security belt.”
Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine, speaking in Shmestar, rejected attempts to frame the conflict as merely a confrontation between Israel and the resistance:
“The confrontation with Israeli aggression does not concern one sect or one political party. It is a confrontation to defend Lebanon in all its components.”
He added:
“Presenting this war as a war between Israel and the resistance on Lebanese soil is an incorrect approach. This is a war between Israel and Lebanon — a war over Lebanon’s very existence.”
