Three consecutive years have passed in the history of the region, yet the debate over the narratives surrounding Al-Aqsa Flood—which shook the world on October 7, 2023—has still not been settled. It reminded the world of the Palestinian cause, which the arrogant powers and those complicit with them had spent years making strenuous efforts to suffocate in the cave of oblivion and the corridors of political bargaining.
Those who understand the justifications and motives behind the Flood ultimately conclude, through their chain of evidence and arguments, that it was a courageous, exceptional, natural, justified and legitimate act of resistance, particularly when measured against the scale of injustice and erasure that threatened Palestine and its people with disappearance. Al-Aqsa Flood was therefore a major shock whose consequences should be measured according to the standards of values and laws, and the degree of their influence on politics—not according to the balance of military power, superiority and the excessive use of violence, including the killing of women and children, as the Zionist enemy has done in Gaza.
Although peoples around the world rose up and demonstrated in defense of humanitarian values and rights, stirred by the Palestinian cause following Al-Aqsa Flood—with capitals and universities across the West filled with marches condemning genocide and crimes against humanity—the region surrounding Palestine was unsettled by the Flood operation because it ran counter to the defeatist path of normalization toward which regional regimes had been steering the region in accordance with the wishes of the Zionist entity and its international supporters.
Three years during which the world has been flooded with news and images of Zionist and American brutality, barbarism and their Western alliances have still not resulted in the confrontation over Gaza and its political and legal future being settled in favor of the Zionist enemy and its supporters. Nor has the narrative of those who objected to or expressed reservations about the Flood prevailed, despite all the lamentations over the ruins, destruction, and human and material losses inflicted relentlessly by the Zionist enemy without any regard for international law or human rights.
Despite this brutality and genocide, the enemy has not succeeded in eliminating Hamas, the resistance factions or the people of Gaza. It has achieved neither peace nor even a temporary truce and stability. The situation remains open to developments whose repercussions extend beyond the Gaza Strip to the future of the entire region, the Palestinian cause, and international peace and security. Indeed, they go beyond exposing the falsehood of the international order and its claims of protecting human rights.
The fact that American- and Western-backed Zionist brutality may currently outweigh the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people is not enough to claim that international peace is moving the region toward security and stability. No security can be expected and no stability can be relied upon while the rights of peoples are being squandered and their right to self-determination is being denied.
Three years have passed since Al-Aqsa Flood, and its roaring waves continue to threaten the ungrateful and the tyrants with drowning and disappointment, despite all the tactical successes they have achieved. They will remain unable—indeed paralyzed—to translate those successes into a stable strategic situation in their favor. This is due to the steadfastness and determination of the resistance and the belief of its people in the legitimacy and justice of their cause, a cause worthy of every challenge and sacrifice.
Al-Aqsa Flood revealed the greatness of the Palestinian people, the strength of their will, and the firmness of their steadfastness in confronting the Israeli killing machine. It exposed the true face of the criminal and savage Zionist entity, and behind it the American enemy and the forces of global arrogance.
It also exposed the falsity of the international community’s and its institutions’ claims to defend freedom and justice, revealed their inability to protect even the most basic human rights, and unmasked those who failed to act and those who were complicit—those who chose silence in the face of the most horrific crimes, massacres and genocide committed against a people who chose to resist their occupier and struggle for their freedom, dignity, land and rights.
Hezbollah in Lebanon, which remains committed to its belief in the justice of the Palestinian cause and does not hesitate to support its resisting and oppressed people, renews its unequivocal condemnation of the Zionist genocide, which has exposed the falsity of the international community’s professed values. It holds the U.S. administration and Western countries that remain silent regarding the condemnation of Zionist crimes responsible, whether those crimes constitute genocide or crimes against humanity.
Hezbollah also calls upon the peoples of the world to rise up in defense of human rights, safeguard justice and prevent powerful states from controlling international law and its application.
As we pray to Almighty God to accept the sacrifices of the leaders, fighters and heroic martyrs of Hamas, Islamic Jihad and all the other resistance factions, and to help our people in Gaza, the West Bank and throughout Palestine remain patient and united in order to defeat the objectives of the project targeting the entire Palestinian cause and all of its people, we also express our full support for all these resistance factions so that they remain steadfast and united around their vision and position against the project of the enemy, its supporters and those complicit with it.
We also warn the rulers of the region that silence, appeasement and accommodation toward the enemy and its allies will ultimately lead only to the undermining of their authority, their weakening, and the empowerment of the enemy to determine the future of their countries and peoples.
Circumstances are not immutable destinies that cannot be changed. When peoples know how to make proper use of the elements of transformation, their will remains capable of shaping the present and building the future.
“And those who have wronged will come to know what kind of return they will be returned to, and the ultimate outcome belongs to the righteous.”
