Status Update: Iranian Attacks on US Bases in the Persian Gulf

Date: February 28, 2026 | Time: 11:50 AM

Following the joint US-Israeli "Operation Epic Fury" launched earlier today against Iranian strategic sites, Iran has initiated a multi-front missile and drone retaliation targeting US military installations across the Persian Gulf.

1. Bahrain: NSA Bahrain & 5th Fleet HQ

• Status: Confirmed Hits.

• Details: Multiple ballistic missiles impacted the Juffair area, specifically targeting the headquarters of the US Navy's 5th Fleet. Smoke has been observed rising from the facility. Local authorities confirm the base was the primary target.

2. UAE: Al Dhafra Air Base

• Status: Confirmed Explosions.

• Details: Violent explosions were reported at Al Dhafra Air Base south of Abu Dhabi. The base houses US and Emirati personnel. UAE authorities have partially closed the airspace, and US citizens in the country are under "shelter-in-place" orders.

3. Qatar: Al Udeid Air Base

• Status: Interceptions Reported.

• Details: The Qatari Ministry of Defense confirmed that Patriot missile defense systems intercepted at least one Iranian missile over the capital, Doha. Al Udeid, the largest US base in the region, remains in a state of high alert with all personnel in bunkers.

4. Kuwait: Ali Al Salem Air Base

• Status: Reported Attack.

• Details: Explosions were heard near Ali Al Salem Air Base** (known as "The Rock"). While impact points are yet to be fully verified, Kuwait has suspended all civil aviation to Iran and implemented emergency security measures.
