The recent statements by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam reveal the persistent disconnect within the state’s political discourse when confronting Israeli aggression:

1️⃣ Weaponizing "Sovereignty" Against Deterrence:

Demanding that the decision of war and peace remain strictly with the state—while the state deliberately remains incapable of protecting its own airspace and borders—is an invitation to defenselessness. True sovereignty is built on power, not on bureaucratic technicalities that disarm the ground resistance.

2️⃣ The Fallacy of Diplomatic Cost:

Terming negotiations "the least costly path" while the enemy actively executes a campaign of systemic destruction is a flawed reading of history. Diplomacy detached from hard military deterrence does not lower costs; it simply invites conditional surrender.

3️⃣Empty Assurances:

Promising the Lebanese public that "the state will spare no effort" while relying on western-backed diplomatic frameworks—the very mechanisms that greenlight the aggression—is the apex of political theater.
