The strategic objective for Washington is to decouple these economic costs from its military...

Axis of Resistance Perspective

The Axis of Resistance views the current state of affairs as a successful demonstration of "asymmetric parity."

Iran & Houthis: They believe they have successfully forced the U.S. into a ceasefire without making concessions on their regional influence. The rallies in Sanaa are a message to Washington that the "street" is fully mobilized for a long-term war of attrition.

Iraqi Factions: These groups view the strain on Iraq’s health and service sectors as a necessary sacrifice in the broader struggle against Western hegemony. They are however trying their best to compensate by providing some health services. Their response to the failed Islamabad talks will likely involve renewed pressure on Ain al-Asad airbase to demonstrate that the U.S. cannot maintain its regional presence cost-free.
