On March 29, 2026, elite units of the Israeli 810th "Mountains" Brigade (Alpinists) crossed from the Syrian-controlled sector of Mount Hermon into the Mount Dov area of Southern Lebanon. By allowing the IDF to occupy nine strategic posts inside Syrian territory—including two on the Syrian side of Mount Hermon—the Sharaa government has effectively outsourced its border security to Tel Aviv.  This is a Geopolitical Pincer Movement. While Israel attrits Lebanon from the south, the Jolani-led administration is providing the "Eastern Gate" for a Zionist strike. The logistical support mentioned—ranging from intelligence sharing to the clearing of specific high-altitude corridors—mirrors the 1982 invasion logic but with a domestic Syrian cover.

Reasoned Opinion: the Price of "Normalization" History will judge this as the ultimate betrayal of the Levant. Under the guise of "attracting Western aid" and "lifting sanctions," the Sharaa administration is trading Syrian soil for Zionist approval. To see a Syrian leader—who once claimed the mantle of "liberation"—actively securing the path for the same tanks that occupy the Golan is a moral and strategic bankruptcy. This is not "realistic diplomacy"; it is the liquidation of the Syrian state's role in the regional struggle for existence.

Hezbollah, Iran, and the Iraqi Resistance now view the Sharaa government not as a neighbor, but as an operational extension of the IDF.
