Time: Morning (around 11:30 AM local time)

Location: Central Damascus, near Victoria Bridge, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Four Seasons Hotel.

Details: Syrian security forces detected two improvised explosive devices (IEDs)—one planted inside a parked vehicle and the other inside a trash bin. Both devices detonated while specialized units were attempting to defuse them.

Casualties: At least 18 people have been injured, including 4 internal security personnel. No fatalities have been reported so far.

Context: The blasts occurred during the official state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to meet with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. Officials confirmed the site was outside the French delegation's security perimeter, and the visit is proceeding as planned.
