Southern Iran

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that U.S. forces began striking Iranian targets at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time (7:30 p.m. Tehran time), in response to recent attacks targeting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. forces.

The strikes were preceded by intensive flights of MQ-4C Triton reconnaissance drones along Iran’s coastline, as well as aerial refueling activity originating from Tel Aviv, Qatar, and the UAE.

At the same time, reports indicated that at least six new explosions were heard in the areas of Chabahar and Konarak in southern Iran.
