Yemen officially announces the martyrdom of the head of the Sana'a government and several ministers

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

“Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow, and some are still waiting. But they have never changed in the least.” (Qur’an, 33:23)

In support of the just cause of the Palestinian people, Yemen has waged the battle of the promised victory and the sacred jihad. It has attained the great honor of offering convoys of martyrs from among the heroes of the armed forces and other sons of the great Yemeni nation, who carried the banner and pledged to God to remain steadfast upon the truth, no matter the cost.

Today, in the midst of the open battle with the Zionist enemy, we convey to our people and our nation a new constellation of great martyrs from among the national leadership representing all segments of the Yemeni people. We announce the martyrdom of the mujahid Ahmad Ghalib Al-Rahwi, Prime Minister of the Government of Change and Reconstruction, along with a number of his fellow ministers, after they were treacherously targeted by the criminal Israeli enemy during a routine government workshop convened to review its activities and performance over the past year. A number of their colleagues were also wounded with moderate to serious injuries and are under medical care. This took place on the afternoon of Thursday, the 5th of Rabi‘ al-Awwal 1447 AH.

We reassure our great Yemeni people and pledge to them that the government, with God’s help, will continue to carry out its duties in a caretaker capacity, and that the state institutions will go on providing services to the steadfast and patient Yemeni people. No matter how great the loss, our path will not be shaken. The blood of these great martyrs will be fuel and motivation to continue walking the same road.

We affirm to our great Yemeni people, to the oppressed people of Palestine, to our entire nation, and to all free people in the world, that we shall remain firm in our principled stance of supporting and backing the people of Gaza, while continuing to build and develop our armed forces to confront every challenge and danger—just as our great Yemeni people are present with resolve, will, and faith in every battlefield and arena.

“Surely we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.” Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best disposer of affairs.

Eternal glory and mercy to the martyrs. Recovery to the wounded. Freedom to the prisoners. Honor and victory to our beloved people and to all the free of the nation. Issued by the Presidency of the Republic of Yemen
