In a statement issued on September 11, 2026, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced a military operation targeting Saudi military buildups along Yemen’s western coast, saying the operation was carried out in response to what it described as continuing Saudi attacks.

In simple terms, the statement says that Yemeni forces:

▪️ Targeted Saudi military concentrations in several districts along the western coast, accusing Riyadh of attempting to impose control over Yemeni territory and committing crimes against civilians.

▪️ Announced that one of the operations targeted Saudi military reinforcements along a distance of approximately 5,400 kilometers, according to the statement, and claimed that the targets were hit.

▪️ Said it had struck seven Saudi military formations comprising approximately 38 brigades, resulting, according to the statement, in deaths and injuries and the destruction of military vehicles.

▪️ Announced the liberation of a number of prisoners held by Saudi forces, whom it said had been detained for years along the western coast.

▪️ Said it had carried out 32 operations to intercept Saudi warplanes and claimed that several aircraft were shot down.

The Main Message:

The Yemeni Armed Forces say that Saudi escalation will not go unanswered and that operations against Saudi military buildups will continue, while emphasizing that the maritime blockade imposed on Saudi vessels will also continue.

Sana’a further states that lifting the blockade and ending what it describes as Saudi aggression are the path toward stopping the cycle of escalation and counter-escalation.
