The past few hours and days have witnessed rapidly developing military developments in Yemen, with the Yemeni Armed Forces making new gains in Hodeidah Governorate, while fierce fighting continues in Al-Jawf and Taiz amid signs of collapse within the ranks of the coalition militias. At the same time, coalition militias continue to make some territorial gains on other fronts.
Gains by the Yemeni Armed Forces
Advances in Hodeidah and the Capture of New Positions
• Control of Hays: The Yemeni Armed Forces reportedly took full control of Hays District in southern Hodeidah Governorate after Saudi-backed coalition militias withdrew from the area.
• Control of Al-Khokha: The gains continued with the announcement that the Yemeni Armed Forces had taken control of the city of Al-Khokha after driving Saudi-backed forces out of the area.
• Withdrawals from Khalid bin Al-Walid Camp: Field sources reported widespread withdrawals by coalition militias from the strategic Khalid bin Al-Walid Camp, indicating a state of disintegration within their ranks amid the advance of the Yemeni Armed Forces.
• Advance Toward Mokha and Repelling Saudi Airstrikes: As part of their advance along the western coast, the Yemeni Armed Forces continue to move toward the strategically important coastal area of Mokha.
However, the Saudi Air Force is attempting to halt this advance by carrying out intensive airstrikes targeting Yemeni Armed Forces positions and advancing convoys in the Al-Wazi’iyah and Mawza areas, in an effort to stop their advance toward the city and the vital Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Sources indicate that some of these airstrikes have at times also struck Saudi-aligned forces themselves as they withdrew from the area.
Major Operations in Al-Jawf
• Repelling Coalition Forces at Al-Yatmah Market: After the coalition’s media center announced that its forces had seized the Al-Yatmah area in Khub wa ash-Shaf District of Al-Jawf Governorate, a field source told the official Sana’a-based Yemen Channel that the Yemeni Armed Forces had driven back the “Saudi enemy groups” deployed to Al-Yatmah Market. The forces reportedly carried out wide flanking operations, destroying dozens of vehicles and military equipment belonging to the coalition militias.
• Repelling the Advance on Al-Labanat Camp: Despite reports of coalition forces advancing toward Al-Labanat Camp in eastern Al-Jawf, footage released yesterday by the Yemeni Armed Forces showed them confronting the advance. Coalition reinforcements were reportedly targeted with ballistic missiles and artillery, resulting in dozens of military vehicles and combat units being destroyed or disabled.
Field Gains by Coalition Militias
On the other side, coalition militias announced some territorial gains on several fronts:
Taiz: Recapture of Strategic Positions
• Coalition militias announced that they had retaken control of the Al-Makazamah and Al-Mihyal areas on the Al-Kadha front west of Taiz.
• They also reported the capture of a commander of the Yemeni Armed Forces’ Rapid Intervention Unit, field commander “Abu Ali Al-Adhri,” along with several of his associates, on the Al-Barh front west of Taiz.
Al-Bayda: Coalition Advances
• In Al-Bayda, coalition militias reported taking control of the positions of Hayd Al-Khazzan, Al-Faylihan, and Al-Nasifah.
Intensive Coalition Airstrikes
Coalition aircraft carried out a series of airstrikes targeting gatherings and reinforcements belonging to the Yemeni Armed Forces in the governorates of Al-Jawf, Al-Bayda, Marib, and Taiz.
