26 Oct 2026 | Sanaa – Riyadh

Ansar Allah announces strikes on the East–West oil pipeline pumping stationsand King Khalid Airport, Riyadh — a direct hit on the Kingdom’s alternative export lifeline while Hormuz stays disrupted.

Saudi coalition says air defenses intercepted a ballistic missile over Riyadh and claims destruction of 5 missile tunnels, 4 launchers & a storage site in Yemen — plus 2 launchers hit in Sanaa (figures unclear if overlapping).

No independent confirmation yet — Houthi claims and Saudi claims both remain unverified. No new Red Sea shipping attacks reported this window.

Analysis: This is now a war of energy infrastructure.

Riyadh’s pipeline = its escape route from Hormuz.

Ansar Allah targeting it = pressure on Saudi economic resilience.

Expect escalation to keep centering on pipelines, ports, and chokepoints — not territory.

Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan Prepare for High-Level Security Talks in Tehran… Could the Mecca Agreement Become a Tool to Prevent a Regional War?

October 26, 2026 | Tehran – Riyadh – Ankara – Islamabad

A significant diplomatic initiative is emerging in the region, as senior officials from the three countries that signed the Mecca Agreement prepare to hold talks with Iranian security officials in Tehran.

Reuters reported the planned meeting at 03:20 GMT on Monday.

Who is expected to participate?

Saudi Arabia: Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman.

Pakistan: Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Turkey: Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin.

Iran: Officials from the Supreme National Security Council.

Saudi and Iranian officials have confirmed arrangements for the consultations.

Why is this meeting important?

The three countries signed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement in August 2026.

One of its key provisions considers an armed attack against one member state an attack against all member states.

Pakistan has ratified the agreement, while the ratification process remains underway in the Turkish parliament.

The discussions are expected to address regional security, escalating Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, and the risk of renewed US–Israeli military confrontation with Iran.

Pakistan’s diplomatic initiative

According to an Iranian official who spoke to Reuters, the initiative originated with Pakistan during Asim Munir’s visit to Tehran last week.

Saudi officials described the consultations as part of broader efforts to reduce tensions and support Qatari and Pakistani mediation initiatives.

Strait of Hormuz

The US naval blockade and Iranian restrictions on maritime navigation remain unresolved.

No agreement has been announced to fully restore freedom of passage for commercial vessels.

The Observer’s Analysis

The significance of this meeting lies in the fact that countries bound by a collective defence agreement have chosen to open direct dialogue with Iran at a time when Saudi Arabia is facing attacks attributed to a movement allied with Tehran.

This creates an important diplomatic opportunity.

While the agreement could strengthen military coordination among its members, it does not mean that Turkey or Pakistan has decided to enter the war in Yemen.

Likewise, the planned meeting does not establish that Iran has accepted Saudi or American conditions.

The central question is whether these consultations will produce clear commitments to reduce attacks, protect civilian infrastructure, and reopen maritime routes.

Regional stability will remain fragile if it relies exclusively on military alliances without addressing the underlying disputes over occupation, sanctions, and sovereignty.

Lula Wins! Brazil Makes History — a Major Victory for BRICS and an Independent Foreign Policy!

October 26, 2026 | Brasília – Brazil

Congratulations to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on securing a historic fourth presidential term!

Brazil has delivered one of the most remarkable electoral comebacks in its democratic history.

According to Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court, Lula defeated Flávio Bolsonaro in Sunday’s presidential runoff:

Lula da Silva: 51.79% — 64.26 million votes

Flávio Bolsonaro: 48.21% — 59.83 million votes

A historic reversal: Lula finished behind Bolsonaro in the first round, then overturned the result to win the presidency by more than 4.4 million votes.

Bolsonaro refuses to concede: Flávio Bolsonaro has rejected the result and demanded that the election be annulled. However, Brazil’s electoral authorities have officially declared Lula the winner.

Why does this victory matter internationally?

BRICS: Lula’s reelection preserves continuity in Brazil’s participation in BRICS and its advocacy of a more multipolar international order.

Palestine: Lula’s administration has been an outspoken critic of Israeli military operations in Gaza and a supporter of Palestinian statehood. His victory means that this diplomatic position can continue to shape Brazilian foreign policy.

Latin America: The result preserves a government that has emphasized diplomatic autonomy and diversified international partnerships, at a time when Washington’s influence remains a major subject of regional debate.

The Observer’s Analysis

Brazil’s election is more than a domestic political event. It has implications for the diplomatic balance across the Global South.

Lula’s continued leadership strengthens the prospects for continuity in Brazil’s BRICS engagement and its support for Palestinian diplomatic rights.

That does not guarantee protection for Palestine, Iran or regional resistance movements, nor does it eliminate US influence in Latin America.

But it does preserve an important diplomatic voice advocating sovereignty, multilateralism and a greater role for emerging powers.

Brazil has made its democratic choice. The challenge now is translating that mandate into concrete policies at home and internationally.

Congratulations to Brazil on its historic election!
